Last season, we saw the Evil Eight bring fresh new talent to the fold, and an old juggernaut in TSM reclaim the North American crown. With a handful of notable offseason transactions, we’re back in action for the Autumn 2016 Season with stakes higher than ever before. This split will determine the eight teams who will compete in the second split, where teams will earn points to vie for a chance to compete at the first-ever Vainglory World Championships.

BRACKET SIDE A:

3:30PM PDT: HAMMERS KINETIC VS GANKSTARS SIRIUS

These two teams are heavy favorites to claim the final North American automatic berth to the World Championship. Kinetic welcomes one of the most accomplished pros in Vainglory in CullTheMeek to its roster, as he joins his former TSM teammate, MICSHE. World-class roamer SuiJeneris will shot-call this promising lineup. Meanwhile, Sirius overhauled their entire roster by acquiring three of the top players from Team Phoenix. This matchup promises to be a bloodbath, with each team looking to make a strong impression in the Evil Eight and their fans alike.

Kinetic: MICSHE (lane), CullTheMeek (jungle), SuiJeneris (roam).

GankStars: Oldskool (lane), Statusbaked (jungle), R3cKeD (roam), Chicken123 (sub/flex) Xelciar (sub/lane).

4:30PM PDT: TEAM SOLOMID VS CLOUD9

Vainglory’s most intense rivalry takes off in the first week of the Autumn Season as longtime rivals TSM and C9 clash again after meeting twice in the Summer Live Championships. C9 added former Hammers Velocity jungler, gabevizzle, which will provide incredible depth to their lineup. TSM’s biggest challenge this season will be maintaining focus after an exhilarating 9-0 run to win the Summer Championships and securing a spot in the World Championship. Fans will be eagerly waiting to see FlashX’s innovations in the Update 1.22 meta and to see how much C9 improved during the offseason following their third-place finish in the Summer Live Championships. The gabevizzle acquisition came right before rosters locked, so C9 may need some time to build up the necessary chemistry to reach their full potential.

TSM: BestChuckNa (lane), VONC (jungle), FlashX (roam), MissBBBri (sub/roam).

Cloud9: Hardek (lane), gabevizzle (jungle), iLoveJoseph (jungle), LostBoyToph (roam), Koedz (sub/flex).

BRACKET SIDE B

1:30PM PDT: PHOENIX REIGN VS ARDENT AURORA

Reign revamped its roster this offseason by surrounding XenoTek with LuluXiu, a former top player on the China server who recently moved to North America, and TheRoastedPotato, who will be the first female pro gamer to compete in the Evil Eight. Meanwhile, Aurora added former GankStars Sirius jungler LoneDelphi to bolster their lineup. Aurora was widely considered to be the most improved team during the Summer Season, and they look to validate that reputation with a Day 1 victory over Reign.

Reign: LuluXiu (lane), XenoTek (jungle), TheRoastedPotato (roam), TheBigDog (sub/roam), StartingAllOver (sub/lane), annamarey (sub/flex).

Aurora: WizardSibs (lane), LoneDelphi (jungle), Poli5208 (roam), Yazaru3 (sub/lane).

2:30PM PDT: NEMESIS TITAN VS HAMMERS VELOCITY

Of all the teams in the Evil Eight, Titan made the fewest roster changes during the offseason. Although Titan showed glimpses of potential during the Live Championships, this Titan roster saw very little success in the second split last season and did not win a single game during the Summer Live Championships. Meanwhile, Velocity is probably the most loaded roster in Evil Eight history, boasting four players who have previously won a Live Championship (Zio, Aloh4, Vains, ttigers) and a fifth who is one of the best to never win a Live Championship (PONtheoriginal). Expect Titan to give Velocity their best shot, but they’ll have a massively uphill battle to beat this stacked Hammers squad.

Titan: Gaspy (lane), DragonDagger (jungle), Riesgo (roam), MaxGreen (sub/roam), HalcyonHavoc (sub/roam).

Velocity: Zio (lane), Aloh4 (jungle), Vains (roam), PONtheoriginal (sub/flex), ttigers (sub/flex).
